The Vagabond is our newest addition to the Pound line of disc bags. This small shoulder bag is versatile enough to serve the needs of avid disc golfers as a travel companion or just for quick rounds. Beginners and kids alike will find this shoulder bag to completely fulfill their needs for a no nonsense bag with all the usual Pound bells and whistles.
Whether you want a small disc bag to leave in your trunk for spontaneous rounds or you are a beginner that is ready to get into disc golf, the Vagabond will provide the storage and function you need in a tiny package.
I have had this bag about 4 months and it is extremely well made. Unfortunately it has some pretty big flaws as well. I use one side pocket to store three putter discs and the other side pocket with an insert to carry a water bottle and a range finder. On both pockets I find the zippers go down too far so that the contents of the pocket want to tip out. I've tried adjusting the zippers to a partially up position but they operate so smoothly that they soon return on their own to wide open. For the insert, there is about a 2" wide piece of velcro on the insert itself but only a 3/4" wide velcro piece on the divider, and it's not strong enough, so the divider comes loose at the top, causing that pocket's contents to lean, which causes my water bottle to want to tip out. Again, I've tried various things to mitigate this but it keeps happening. Then the top main pocket which holds most of my discs...It is nicely rounded in the front which gives it a great look, but lacks functionality. Even when I have room for several more discs, I can't put them in the front because of the rounded pocket. I'm forced to fill the bag to capacity from the middle, so getting the specific discs I want up front is hard to do. Again, this is a terrifically made bag! The straps are comfortable. All of the materials are top notch, but these niggly but important flaws mar its usefulness for me.
I ordered the Vagabond to be my glow round bag. I am ordering another to use as my full time bag. The materials it's made of look top quality. All the stitching and seams are clean and perfect. There is plenty of room for all the disc I need for my level of pure recreational game.
With a little longer strap and a couple strong magnets and paracord to hang my speaker on made the Vagabond perfect for my setup.
First off, another great bag by our friends over at Pound! It reminds me of my original Fade crunchbox when I started playing, but with the outstanding durability and quality we’ve come to expect with Pound. My only thought is you could have added a D ring or two somewhere for towels/bag tags. Also, I can see myself using this like the overnighter, roughly same storage with detail and haul pockets. Simplistically Incredible.
Sold my Carltons, Luv my Rufus, but I've been using the Vagabond since I got it months ago, almost exclusively. Dare I say...the Vagabond is the perfect shoulder bag.
